I beg to differ
Here's an interesting little excerpt from an article I just read... I've taken the liberty to highlight some quotes from this article that I found to be...enlightening.

(CNSNews.com) - John P. Holdren, the top science adviser to President Barack Obama, wrote in a book he co-authored with population control advocates Paul and Anne Ehrlich that children from larger families have lower IQs.
“It surely is no accident that so many of the most successful individuals are first or only children,” wrote Holdren and the Ehrlichs, “nor that children of large families (particularly with more than four children), whatever their economic status, on the average perform less well in school and show lower I.Q. scores than their peers from small families.”
Holdren and the Ehrlichs published "Human Ecology" with W.H. Freeman and Company in 1973. In June 2000, a study published in American Pyschologist debunked the notion that children in larger families have lower I.Q.s. But when Holdren appeared in the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee in 2009 for a confirmation hearing on his appointment to run the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, he continued to argue for the benefits of “smaller families” on other bases.
In "Human Ecology," Holdren and the Ehrlichs concluded: “Population control is absolutely essential if the problems now facing mankind are to be solved.”
“Political pressure must be applied immediately to induce the United States government to assume its responsibility to halt the growth of the American population,” they wrote.

I beg to differ, Mr. Holdren.
I submit to you Mr. Brandon Michael Kopp. My beloved nephew. From a family of eight....
...who just scored 100% on the math portion of the SATs.
Which is 800 out of 800.
He stayed up til midnight last night to be the first in the nation to submit his application online to the United States Air Force Academy. As well as West Point.
In case you were wondering, Mr. Holdren.
November can't come soon enough.

The book—"Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions"—argued that the United States government had a “responsibility to halt the growth of the American population.”

Well said, Patti!!!!
What!!!! Amazing that idots like this can exist!
And I guess since I come from a larger family I must be less intelligent. Don't think so!
...and, Brandon's brothers refer to him as "stupid" - so you can only imagine how smart they are!
Just kidding Brandon sounds like a very smart kid, I would like to meet his parents.
I completley agree with you Ms. Patti!!! We are going to have seven kids once we get the two we are adopting home, and I have a GPA of 3.8. I think that it is crazy that people think that families with more kids are more likely to drop out of school or won't graduate on time.
Hot air and hog wash!!! Where do these idiots get their
"scientific" opinions? I just pray the majority of the people in our good ole US of A have learned a lesson and vote wisely in November. One term for BO is one term too many.
This just makes my blood boil. The problems facing the american population and government are not large families but the udder disrespect and lack of value for life, and the Creator of life, God. Our society is already starting to think that way, if you have two (ESP. One of each) then you should be thru. What makes me sick is to think how many people are going to buy into this, just like they buy into all the other poliitical nonsense scams like global warming. But that is a whole other story. I am pregnant with number four, and I admit it I cringed at the thought of what people were going to say, because for a majority of the people I know, I was already over my alotted limit when number three was born. Guess what government, I don't intend on stopping at number four. I home school, and my first born who is. 6 now has been reading since 4 and currently reads above a 5 th grade reading level. I am from a family of 7 and my youngest sister is currently in nursing school and the top of her class. Sorry if this sounds like I am ranting, cause I am. This just really makes me mad, this ontop of reading you post on a prefectlily "targeted". I am just all worked up now. I better go blow some steam off, and give the dogs a bath. But don't worry I am a responsible pet owner and my animals have been spayed and neutered. LOL.
No, it certainly cannot :(
